John S. Platts, Esq.

John is admitted to practice law in all of Florida's State Courts and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. His past or present memberships in attorney related organizations include: the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers; the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association; the American Bar Association; the Broward County Bar Association; and the Dade County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, which is an organization of current or past property/casualty insurance professionals, rather than attorneys. John graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law and earned separate honors in Miami's Litigation Skills Program. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree from Barry University and was awarded the Certificate of Professional Insurance Accomplishment for completing Florida International University's professional insurance education program. Before joining our firm, John had his own law firm under the name of John S. Platts, P.A., where he handled insurance coverage disputes and personal injury cases. During the twenty years prior to becoming an attorney, he was a property/casualty insurance agent, an insurance consultant, and an insurance agency owner representing the largest publicly owned personal lines insurance company in the United States.
