November 20, 2015A group of more than 100 women who purportedly ingested birth control pills that had been packaged incorrectly by the manufacturer, is seeking millions in damages.
The lawsuit was filed against a company called Qualitest Inc., and as part of the damages, the group of women is seeking the costs associated with raising children born in unplanned pregnancies, according to the suit.
The Food and Drug Administration recalled more than 3 million birth control packages in 2011 after a woman noticed that the pills inside her pack were allegedly reversed in order. A change in the orientation of the way the pills are ingested greatly increases the chance of pregnancy, the suit contends.
