In total, around 7,600 units are being recalled by Meijer Inc. and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Katie Brown Tea Light Candle Sets CPSC Recall Release, “The clear plastic candle holder can ignite, posing a serious burn and fire hazard to consumers.” Thus, in this case, the issue that was causing the fire hazard relates to a product defect. However, the news of this recall still provides an appropriate venue to bring up the issue of unsuspecting fire hazards at home.
