September 25, 2015A South Florida man was seriously injured after a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 75 in Weston on Monday, September 14.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a tractor-trailer missed his exit and began to reverse on I-75 at the Royal Palm Boulevard exit.
The man, identified as Eric Pereira, driving a Mercedes Benz, was unable to avoid the truck and violently collided with it, shredding the passenger side of his sedan.
Authorities stated that Mr. Pereira was lucky to be alive considering the severity of the collision and the fact that it involved a large tractor-trailer. Pereira, the owner of a popular air conditioning company located in Coral Springs. The driver of the tractor-trailer was issued two citations for moving violations and was uninjured.
