Florida Highway Patrol stated that four people were killed and one person was seriously injured after a collision involving two vehicles.
Spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol says the head-on collision happened on September 8, at around 9:30 p.m. on northbound U.S. 27 in Weston, located about 20 miles west of Fort Lauderdale. Three of the victims were inside an SUV that overturned as a result of the accident, the other victim was in a car. The cause of the accident is undetermined, but authorities are investigating.
While any motor vehicle accident can be a traumatic experience, those involving head-on collisions are generally the most dangerous. The type of injuries caused by a head-on collision can have the most serious effects on the body, especially if the accident occurs at a high speed. It is critical that you employ your vehicle’s safety restraints and always observe prevailing traffic conditions to ensure that you will be aware of erratic or dangerous driving by those around you.
